There was no AI hack, the story is about a spear phishing attempt on one person using an AI voice.

Has Google ever called any of their 2.5 Billion users to warn them of suspicious activity?

This is a phishing attempt that could be used against a customer of any online or realworld service. Google is susceptible because its popularity not because of a security defect in Gmail.


I think they should change '2.5B Users' by '2500000000 Users' in the title to get more clicks.
