"Nobody can explain why we need the internet in our lives"

Soon people might figure out you technically need nothing except a lean-to for cover from the elements and some basic food.



Has anybody really said that about the internet, though? I've never heard it.

Even immediately after the .com bubble burst it was still obvious the web had a ton of potential for communication, knowledge sharing, etc.

The only thing AI seems good at is pumping out low quality "content", and there was already too much of that before.


This is facetious, the magic of the internet was instantly realized but perhaps not immediately embraced full on. The magic of LLMs is still being felt out from the tech it’s based on.

Send signals between machines is a lot bigger and different than dump everything into a statistical model.
