iwp9 PC chair here :). Please feel free to ask any questions you have.
Plan 9-related technologies are hiding in a lot of places. For example, the UTF-8 encoding is ubiquitous today and the 9p protocol is used in many places, e.g. to exchange files between virtual machines guests and the host machine. Accordingly, we thought a new edition of the workshop would be great to have.
So after ten years without iwp9 (and with Covid), we're back on track and managed to attract quite a number of interesting submissions. The workshop has a broad focus on Plan 9-related technologies and the topics include:
- Storage and file systems
- Name spaces and security
- Reducing the resource overhead for Plan 9-related technologies
- Ports to new (and old!) hardware architectures
- New software for Plan 9
We have reserved lots of time for interaction, discussion, hacking and networking. If you are interested, on behalf of the organizing committee I would be happy to meet you in Waterloo, ON, Canada in April (21st-23rd) - thanks to our host Ali José Mashtizadeh.
