I'm curious about how companies that rely a lot on immigration to fill positions how they are going to convince people to move to the US and work from home.
Also varies a lot by PA. Chrome is very friendly to remote work, because they're an open-source project with a lot of non-Google contributors anyway. Android or Search, not so much. Research, infrastructure, geo, and core - decent. Don't know too much about the other PAs.
A lot of the people I mentioned above actually transferred PAs to make remote work work. If that's a goal of yours, Google's a big enough company that there's probably a role available.
The problem is that you need a VP exception for remote work and many VPs don't believe in it at all. So there are entire orgs where the number of remote people is zero.

This is just horrible Italian. It's a slang form and technically incorrect. I honestly don't know how people can write this sort of thing without fear of being seen as ignorant fools.

"parsare" and "patchare" are anglicist slang terms (ab)used in programming circles. It's the sort of thing that (and I say that as an Italian living in England) just sounds grating. I understand language evolves, but there are Italian words already there for those concepts: to parse can be "analizzare", to patch can be "modificare", "aggiustare", "rimpiazzare".
Italian geeks used to poke fun at the '80s managerial classes and their pointless anglicisms....

"processazione" is just not an Italian word - it's the first time I see or hear it, I cannot find it in any dictionary, I guess it's another recent depravation of an English word ("processing"?). In Italian one would use "elaborazione" or "procedimento".

"venire su" (coming up) is, again, slang that you're not supposed to use in writing.
So yeah, the text is likely from a native speaker, but not one particularly well-versed in the language. Which makes the project even more bizarre.
Can't speak in LA, but in Switzerland where almost no one has AC it definitely does not cool enough during the night. During the summer even if I keep the windows closed all day I cannot get the temperature below 26-27 degrees. The main difference though is that I was not trying to work in this conditions as my office had AC.
According to the article, it's 25 people having being killed since the beginning of the year because of misinformation spread through whatsapp. It seems like it should be a big deal for the company.
EDIT: one personal example is at some point I took some external classes and used 20℅ time for it. But most cases are for developing some sort of tools or product.
I think you'll find that mentally ill people are treated differently in Europe, that would be a necessary first step of your want to do something similar in sf.
Yes I spend a couple of months every year in Europe so I'm aware. The thing is health care is better, drug abuse (not use, but abuse) seems lower and also society has less tolerance for acting out. I've got a lot of mental illness issues in my family, so I hopefully can say this without sounding rude. But a lot of people dealing with mental episodes can to some extent moderate their behaviour. Not that it's easy, but the ability is there. However particularly in SF we are very tolerant, maybe to the point of causing more harm than good. So then some people just indulge in their every impulse including engaging in poor sanitary habits.
The low cost for healthcare usually helps, in addition to the social net. A social democracy surely has it's benefits. *Not to be going into a political debate here.
