Polymarket uses UMA as the resolution mechanism. It's not quite Polymarket, but UMA. See Zelenskyy's suit last year.

"update" lol

That's one way to bring down energy inflation...

Nothing have given me more issues than ipv6. Every time I've tried to use it, it gives me so much headache I just give up. I'm not even sure my ISP supports it. My router doesn't get an ipv6, and called my IPS. After going through 3 different people over 2 hours I just gave up. I just hope I get put behind CGNAT...

So you're gonna have a hard time believing this, but I just opened the link sitting in a cafe in Buenos Aires, and the girl in your second picture was apparently sitting just behind me. She came and was shocked how I opened her picture on my computer from so long ago. Wow. Small world.

Actually that girl just messaged me, and a group of common friends, a moment ago to tell me she was sitting in a cafe in Palermo a moment ago and saw someone looking at a web page with a photo of her from almost 20 years ago and she got really confused and went over to talk to him! (She's also a PhD and an example of the super intellectual girls that were the mainstay of our weekly gatherings!). Really funny!!!

> For example, the reason small towns can feel so oppressive is because they are surveillance panopticons. Everyone knows each other, so the range of acceptable behaviour is inevitably mediated by social pressure. If you break the invisible rules of the group, you risk losing status, being shunned by everyone in your life – or potentially even worse.

words worth remembering

We must be using different Windows 11 then. Last I booted up Windows instead of shoving Cortana everywhere now it's shoving Copilot. The telemetry sent would make spyware jealous.

The "current" state does not matter. What matters is that MS can shittify your experience at any time. Your machine can stop working if you don't agree to MS "updates". On Linux you have the assurance that the state of your machine can be preserved and you know exactly what's being installed on it.

FTFY: Windows is spyware. The fact that you paid for spyware or it came on your computer or it has useful properties (like Bonzi Buddy) doesn't make it not spyware.

Pretty good writeup but not sure why VLC is not recommended...?

Hey man can I be your friend? That is a super sick setup and I love how you've done it!

I don't quite agree. LLMs have been fun for me in the sense that they have enabled me explore topics I wouldn't quite be familiar with and it would take too much for me to actually explore. For instance, putting a "restore last session" (restoring tabs) in my daily tabbed file explorer, Nemo. I wouldn't have cared enough to fork the repo and add this for myself if I didn't have an LLM to guide me through the parts that I would need to edit. It's too large of a code base for me to go digging through.
